[edit]This page should not be speedily deleted because I have added some extra material, including alternative names, which should help to address the identifiability issue, and any notability isssues. I think a star like GJ 180 is at the kind of distance from earth where it is inevitable that it will acquire a wikipedia page sooner or later, especially given the identification of planets. The references I have given should help to establish that. --Tcgriffin (talk) 21:16, 2 November 2014 (UTC) Wikipedia's list of nearest terrestrial exoplanets lists GJ 180 b as at a distance of 12.12 light years, not 38. One of these two articles is WAY off. (VKB) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.99.96.2 (talk) 17:51, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
distance issue
[edit]Re the comment above, the planetary Habitability Catalogue gives 38 light years. http://phl.upr.edu/projects/habitable-exoplanets-catalog/data. 38 light years would be fairly close to 12.12 parsecs so I wonder if an error didn't creep in on the list page that way. --Tcgriffin (talk) 20:40, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
